Another Reflections...

Salaam everyone...

Dah lama x menjenguk blog ni.. Sejak bulan July yg lps, this is my 1st post.. Terlalu byk benda yg berlaku sampai x tau apa nak tulis..

Mm... let me recall all things that took place btw July to September..

Farhanah, alhamdulillah.. dh selamat menjalani major operation on 3rd of July.. So, her left adrenal had been removed successfully. Thanx to Allah :) and also the paeds surgical team. 1st few days dia x rs sakit sgt sbb masih ada epidural.. on the 3rd day, off epidural n she started to feel some pain at the epidural site..

hahaa.. guess what? Her wound at the op site, which just below her umbilicus is about 12 cm long.. but she didnt complain of any pain from it!! huhu.. ummi kesian kt anak ummi ni.. but she's really strong.. ummi pun kena jd strong la kan.. hehe

mm.. she lost weight from 17 kg to only 14 kg post op.. ye la, bayangkn dia cuma boleh start minum hari ke-3.. then terpaksa puasa lg sbb muntah2.. so, rsnya dlm hari ke-7 br dia leh mkn cam biasa..

On day 5, noticed that her BP consistently high.. then proceed with renal ultrasound and doppler.. most likely Renal artery stenosis..
Actually, the adrenal mass and lymph node had compressed on the renal artery.. and after it was removed the renal vessel failed to regain its normal shape..
Dugaan btol utk anak ummi ni ye.. dh remove tumour, jadi darah tinggi pulak.. now she's on anti hypertensive, 3 times a day.. sabar ye kakak..

Few weeks after operation, proceed with another chemotherapy.. this time the plan is to hv 4 cycles of
TVD (topotecan, vcr and doxorubicin)..they call this as 'Rescue strategy'..

Alhamdulillah 2 days b4 Hari Raya she completed her 1st cycle of TVD.. sooo... dpt la kami beraya.. tp beraya simple2 je.. xleh nk balik kampung mane2.. beraya kt Shah Alam n Ampang je.. nasib baik parents seme kt sini.

Ms Hari Raya tu dh nampak dia letih.. appetite pun kurang..

Raya ke-2 pi ward utk check FBC, rupanya Hb low.. so transfused darah dulu..

Raya ke-3 pulak pi HUKM lg, visit Che (my grandmother)..
Che admitted after had a fall @ home.. # her neck of femur..
sian che.. moga cepat sembuh ye che n dpt jln laju mcm dulu : )

Raya ke-4, pi HUKM lg.. and this time admitted sbb Farhanah demam with ANC 0 and her platelet just 7. Ya Allah, nasib baik xde bleeding ke ape kt umah..

While we r in the ward, Ijah got msg from Mus to inform me that he was in ED that night, to be specific in RED ZONE !!
Mus batuk berdarah ptg tu, darah yg byk sampai habis sekotak tisu !.. huhu.. ms tu ijah cuma dpt doa "Ya Allah, selamatkanlah suamiku.. ringankanlah kesakitannya, jauhkan dia dari penyakit yg bahaya..tenangkanlah dan lapangkn dada hambaMu ini.."

Mus admitted to ICU for close monitoring.. esknya proceed with CT scan thorax.. from the scan ade cavitation seen..
and he was treated for PTB.. ijah rs lega skit sbb sekurang2 nya dh tau diagnosis.. infectious disease.. dan bukan malignancy..

Ya Rahman.. Ya Rahim.. satu persatu ujian yg Kau berikan pada kami.. terasa sgt berat utk dipikul.. tp kami yakin janjiMu benar.. dan pasti ada hikmah yg tersimpan.. kami redha Ya Allah.. bantulah kami menjadi hambaMU yg sabar & bersyukur..

PB oh PB...

Salaam & Good day...

Ijah doakan rakan2 semua sentiasa dalam kesihatan & ketenangan..
Lama dh tak update entry pasal Health corset Premium Beautiful (PB) ni. Waktu sedikit terhad sejak sebulan yg lepas. Ni ade peluang boleh la share skit pasal PB to everyone..

Tak lama lagi dh nk masuk Ramadhan.. Personally, ibadah puasa ni agak mencabar utk ijah yg sememangnya cepat rs lapar ni. Bila lapar mula la sakit perut, nausea, sakit n pening kepala seme ade.. Tp alhamdulillah sejak guna PB corset ni ibadah puasa ternyata jd lebih ringan.. tak sia2 beli PB :)

Bagi yg ingin turunkan berat badan, atau nak dapatkn posture badan yg baik, cuba pakai PB ni 8 jam sehari, selama 2-3 bulan pasti nampak hasilnya insyaAllah..
Husband mesti puji nnt :) ye la kita nak jaga badan pun bukan utk orang lain.. tp utk suami kita juga kan.

Ada yg cakap : Sy bekerja, kuar umah awal pagi sempat ke nak sarung corset ni?
→ InsyaAllah sempat.. Lps mandi tu terus la sarung. Tak ambil ms lama pun. 1st time pakai je yg lama skit sbb still ketat kan. Nanti dah biasa pakai corset , rs tak sedap n x lengkap pulak bila tak pakai..
Yg lain pula ckp : Alaa.. susah laa.. nnt nak ke toilet leceh..
→ Ish apa yg susah nye.. Exercise tgn skit je utk bukak girdle tu.. Yg penting bila pakai PB ni kerja2 membuang jadi sgt lancar. Tak perlu dah nak termenung lama2 kt dlm toilet tu hehe..

Kalo sesiapa yg selalu sakit2 belakang, sakit pinggang, eloklah pakai PB. Ade teknologi FIR (Far Infrared Rays) yg bantu lancarkn peredaran darah so that bantu elakkan sakit belakang & sokong tulang belakang kita. Jangan ambil mudah hal back pain ni. Nanti leh jadi punca kita cuti panjang dr bekerja dan x dpt nk lakukan rutin/aktiviti harian mahupun hobi yg kita suka.. PB ni sbg rawatan alternatif bg orang yg tak suka mkn ubat byk2 cam sy ni hehe..

Mahal ke PB corset ?
→ Mahal skit la, tp berpatutan dgn hasilnya.
Kalo bukan sbb ianya health corset, Ijah pun mungkin x beli sbb mahal jg la.. RM 2400 utk set kecil. RM 2600 utk set besar. Mm, mahal x..
Tapi bila dh pakai, memang sgt berbaloi.
Beli sekali je.. dpt pakai seumur hidup. Kebaikan pun seumur hidup. Ada lifetime warranty lg. Teknologi FIR lg.. Mmg terbukti berkesan. Dah lebih 20 tahun di Malaysia & still hot in da market :)

Siapa yg boleh pakai PB ni?
→ PB ni utk seme org yg inginkan kebaikan kesihatan yg berpanjangan.

Boleh mula pakai 1 week after normal delivery.. 2 weeks after Caesarean.. tp waist nipper tu boleh terus pakai lps bersalin. Cuma girdle tu perlu ada tenaga skit utk sarungkan. insyaAllah bukan sj utk dapatkn balik bentuk badan yg asal, tp utk kebaikan2 yg lain jg. Sila rujuk entry ijah yg sebelum ni ye..

Mm.. ijah selalu fikir gini je.. tubuh kita ni ade satu je. Mana ada ganti dah. Spare part pun tak de jual.. huhuuu.. So kena la jaga tubuh badan kita baik2..

Akhir kata, “Alah membeli.. menang memakai..”

Badan kita mmg tanggungjawab kita..

Bg yang berminat nk rasa kebaikan health corset ni, jgn segan.. sila contact saya utk aturkan temujanji bersama, juga boleh fitting corset :

A REFLECTION...

Dari full time doctor, skrg dapat jadi full time mother & wife.

Moga Allah perkenankn.

Progress kakak setakat ini,

  • chemotherapy - completed end of May
  • CT Abdomen - 70% reduction in size of the adrenal tumour
  • Latest CT Abdomen - pending
  • MRI brain/orbit (June) - slightly reduce in size of extradural mass
  • MIBG scan (June) - pending
Latest plan :
  1. Tumour debulking surgery which is Open Adrenalectomy scheduled on the 26th of June 2013
  2. Radiotherapy sessions for 6 weeks to commence in July till end of August 2013
Apa saja yg terbaik utk merawat kakak kami ikut... Hasilnya cuma Allah yg boleh tentukan..

Sy share skit perbualan dgn kakak semasa di ward ,
Kakak : Ummi, hari ni selamat hari jadi Ummi ye?
Ummi : Ye kakak.. naper?
Kakak : Ummi tak makan kek ke?
Ummi : Takpe kakak.. Nanti kakak sihat kita pi mkn kek ok
Kakak : Ummi.. kakak nak kek yg ade gambar princess..
Ummi : Okie, nnt besday kakak kite bitau kt abi belikn kek princess ye. Tapi kakak kenala sihat dulu.
Kakak : Ummi nak kek apa ?
Ummi : Ummi nak kek yg ade icecream.. besttt..
(lps tu ummi terdiam saje.. sbb dalam hati ummi sbnrnya ada satu saje yg ummi nak.. ummi nak kakak sihat mcm dulu.....)

Moments yg spt ni on n off sentiasa berlaku.. di mana ummi akn terdiam kerana menahan sebak dan menahan air mata yg sudah berlumba2 ingin keluar setiap kali merenung dalam wajah kakak...

Tambah pula bila kakak sebut.. I love u, Ummi..
I love u too, kakak.. always n forever..

Sekian - sekadar refleksi Ummi Farhanah.

Everybody has the right to be RICH !

Salaam & Good day my friends..

Alhamdulillah, Allah gave me this opportunity to attend the SGR course during last weekend.

Thank you to Kak Suzana for introducing SGR to us. At 1st, we do not know what to expect in this course.. but we just attend it with our heart because we have trust in you sis.. hehe :)

Big thank to my sister, Aishah khairudin for ur never ending support.. also thank you so much Mak, Kasmawati Mohamed for being a great granny during that weekend so that i can attend the event.

Not to forget, my husband; Mustaza Jamaluddin.. thanx abg sbb tolong jaga kakak kt ward sepanjang event ni.. this is really important for us.

Ape yg best sgt event ni?
Mmg best sbb its an eye opening for me to realise that most of my action or decisions came from the FEELING of FEAR inside me, and rarely from the feeling of LOVE.
But why it happened like that ?

Bcoz... I rarely LOVE myself....(not really.. but RAREly !!)
I had the hard time to recall when was the last time I LOVE myself or PAMPER myself.. also cannot recall when was the time that I have that 'ME' time..

I learn that this universe has its own LAW.
One of the LAW is the LAW OF ATTRACTION.
We will always attract the same thing that we feel..
So.... if inside us full of the feeling and thought of LOVE, we will definitely attract LOVE into our life.
If... everyday in our life, we only think about difficulty and fear.. we will only attracting more difficult situation and fear into our daily life.

So,mulai hari ini sy akan bertenang.. cuba sayangi diri sendiri in order utk menyayangi yg lain.. live the presence, not the past or the future.. sentiasa bersifat bersyukur.. kurangkan merungut.. Jadi seorang muslimah yg positive.. so that sy cuma akan menarik perkara2 yg positive ke dlm kehidupan sy.. insyaAllah..

Semua org berhak utk KAYA (RICH).. bagi saya, I want to be RICH in my life. RICH for me means :
RICH with LOVE
RICH with PEACEFUL MIND
RICH with IMAAN & AMAL
RICH with HAPPINESS
RICH with CONFIDENCE
RICH with KNOWLEDGE
RICH with SUCCESS

Sy berdoa... semoga perjalanan hidup sy dan keluarga sentiasa dibawah rahmat Allah dan diberkati olehNYA..
dan semoga anda semua pun begitu juga...Thank you Allah

FEEL THE LOVE... & LOVE WILL COME TO YOU :)

"La TaHZaN...."

Jangan bersedih wahai hati..
Sungguh Allah itu amat dekat
Dia yg Maha Mendengar doa hambaNya
Dia Yang Maha Pengasih Maha Penyayang

Jangan bersedih wahai insan..
Setiap ujian itu sesuai dgn hambaNya
Dugaan itu halwa kehidupan
Tanpa diuji, hidup ini tiada harganya
Bersabarlah dan berdoa...

Jangan bersedih..
Kesedihan itu tiada penghujungnya
Sedih itu amat memenatkan
Tukarlah kesedihan itu menjadi sebuah kesyukuran
Hitunglah setiap detik dan nikmat yg diberikan..

Jangan bersedih...
Sesungguhnya ada yg lebih derita dari kita..
Simpanlah kesedihan itu disebalik senyuman..
Tingkatkan amal ibadah, tingkatkn iman
Ingatlah hanya dgn megingati Allah, hati akan menjadi tenang..

Jangan bersedih...
Senyum dan bersyukurlah..
Anak kecil ini sudah pasti destinasinya..
Menuju syurga Allah yg indah abadi..
Berusahalah..

Permudahkan urusan kami dunia & akhirat..
Sembuhkanlah anak ku dgn sebenar2 kesembuhan yg tiada lagi kesakitan selepas itu..
Amiin.. Ya Rabbal 'Alamiin

Coping With CHEMOTHERAPY..

Coping With Side Effects of Chemo

  • Keep Food Tasty. Chemo can do a number on your taste buds, making certain foods and drinks taste metallic or unpleasant. Water and meat are the two most common items that become distasteful during chemo, says Cara Anselmo, clinical dietitian at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. If it becomes difficult to drink plain water, try drinking flavored mineral water or add sliced lemon to tap water. If certain meats become difficult to enjoy, try other sources of protein such as eggs, low-fat dairy, beans, and fish.
  • Fight Constipation. While some people experience diarrhea with chemo, others deal with constipation. Keeping hydrated is important to help prevent constipation. Including all types of fiber in your diet also can be helpful. If you aren’t accustomed to large amounts of fiber, make sure to increase your fiber slowly. Getting some exercise -- even just a 20-minute walk -- can be a powerful intestinal stimulant.
  • Manage Weight Gain. Some cancer patients tend to gain weight during treatment, says Jennifer Koorenny, MS, RD, oncology dietitian for Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. She suggests low-fat meals, snacks, and lots of vegetables.
  • Improve Your Appetite. Many people undergoing chemo find that their appetites suffer. Since carbohydrates are usually digested well, Erika Connor, RD, clinical dietitian for the Stanford Cancer Center, recommends trying snacks such as hot cereals, toast with peanut butter or other nut butter, or pita bread with hummus. Other foods to consider include yogurt and blended soups.
  • Ease Diarrhea. If you are experiencing diarrhea, avoid greasy and fried foods, caffeine, sugary drinks and fruit juices, salad greens, raw produce, and sugar alcohols. Foods that are generally well-tolerated include oatmeal, most fruits without skin, sweet potatoes, and squash.
  • Keep a Food and Symptom Diary. Write down what you eat and drink, and record any symptoms you experience daily.  This will help you and your health care team identify what you are eating that may be causing nausea, constipation, or diarrhea. This way, medications and other dietary suggestions can be tried before problems escalate.

Staying Comfortable During Chemo

  • Relieve Mouth Sores. Some types of chemotherapy can cause mouth sores, also known as oral mucositis. To encourage healing, avoid spicy foods, alcohol, and hot temperature foods. Keep your mouth moist by drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day. Rinsing your mouth with salt water after meals may also be helpful.
  • Stay Hydrated. Diarrhea and vomiting combined with low fluid intake can cause dehydration. Signs of dehydration may include a dry or sticky mouth, sunken eyes, low urine output (urine is dark yellow when it is concentrated), and an inability to produce tears. Drinking plenty of water can help you avoid dehydration.
  • Control Nausea. Eating cool foods instead of warm foods, chewing on crystallized ginger, or sipping on peppermint or ginger tea can help discourage nausea. It’s also best to avoid greasy or fried foods and foods with strong odors.
  • Eat Mini-Meals. Eating smaller sized meals tends to be tolerated better during the chemo process than larger, less frequent meals. Eating smaller, more frequent meals will help with nausea as well.
  • Talk to a Dietitian. It may be helpful to meet with a registered dietitian, which is a food and nutrition expert. A dietitian can help you with the specific food and diet issues you are experiencing during cancer treatment.

Staying Healthy During Chemo

  • Avoid Alcohol. During chemotherapy, be kind to your liver because it is helping to metabolize all the potential toxins in your bloodstream. According to Anselmo, alcohol can cause undue stress on the liver and make it harder for the liver to process chemo drugs. Alcohol can also make your nausea or other gastrointestinal side effects worsen and may interact with certain drugs that are given in conjunction with chemo.
  • Watch Supplements. Dietitians in top cancer treatment centers across the country suggest not taking dietary supplements during chemo. These include vitamins, minerals, herbals, and botanicals. There are potential drug-nutrient interactions that can interfere with the effectiveness of chemotherapy. Talk to your doctor about taking any supplements when you are undergoing chemo.
  • Limit Green Tea. Some physicians limit the amount of green and white tea consumed by patients who are undergoing chemo. Anselmo advises her patients to limit tea drinking to one or two mugs a day. Green and white teas are packed with antioxidant phytochemicals and may interfere with the desired effect of chemo.
  • Ask Your Doctor About Soy-Based Foods. Before eating soy-based foods, check with your oncologist regarding your specific type of cancer or chemotherapy.
